Date Formulas

You can use a date formula to save the date field information when you save report options. You can also use a date formula to specify a relative date that will update each time you run the report.

For example, you can create date formulas to use the first day of the previous month, the last Friday of the current fiscal quarter, and yesterday. ProContractor determines the specific date to use based on the formula entered.

Tip: To display a date formula pop-up window, select in a date field on the Options tab of a report screen.

For more information, see Save Report Options.

Date Formula Options

No Date Formula
This is the default option. If this option is selected, ProContractor will use the date entered in the date field on the Options tab of the report screen. If the report options have been saved, ProContractor will use the default value for the date field.
Today
ProContractor uses the current date.
Tomorrow
ProContractor uses the date for the day after the current date.
Yesterday
ProContractor uses the date for the day before the current date.
Specific Date
In the field to the right of the option, enter a specific date or select to select the date from a Date Picker. This is the same as entering a date in the date field on the Options tab of the report screen.
Formula
Use this option to have ProContractor determine the date based on criteria entered. Fill in the formula fields as described below.

Read the completed formula to understand the date that ProContractor will select.

For example, let's say you create the following date formulas for date fields in a report:
  • The first Monday of the previous month
  • The first day of the current calendar quarter
  • The last day of the next fiscal period based on company 01 - JD Construction, Inc.
If the current date is March 10, 2024 and fiscal periods for company 01 - JD Construction end on the 15th of every month, ProContractor calculates the dates as:
  • February 3, 2024
  • January 1, 2024
  • April 15, 2024
If the current date is July 1, 2024 and fiscal periods for company 01 - JD Construction end on the 15th of every month, ProContractor calculates the dates as:
  • June 2, 2024
  • July 1, 2024
  • August 15, 2024
